I will be previewing all 30 NHL clubs. I will be looking at their available salary cap room, the additions and deletions from the 2008-09 rosters, and where I think they will stack up in their division and conference for the 2009-10 campaign.
Let's get a move on with the Toronto Maple Leafs, which play in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference.
When Brian Burke was hired as the new General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, he promised a return to the glory days and a return the success that the franchise has not experienced since 1967. It was the last season of the Original Six era in the NHL and the last time the Toronto Maple Leafs hoisted Lord Stanley’s Cup.
As I started to look at this year’s potential roster I had to ask myself where the goals will be coming from. When I looked at last year's statistics, I realized that the Leafs had a very balanced attacked and were in the top third of the NHL. I knew the go...

Kessel Saga Ends with Trade to Toronto
The wait is officially over, and the questions surrounding Phil Kessel's status with the Boston Bruins can finally be put to bed. On Friday night, the Bruins pulled the trigger on a trade that sent Kessel to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a pair of first round draft picks (2010 & 2011), as well as a second round pick (2010). All three of the picks originally belonged...

Finally, Brian Burke lands Phil Kessel
Brian Burke has finally landed his most coveted off season acquisition landing Boston Bruins scorer Phil Kessel. The Leafs GM has been chasing Kessel since the draft back in June and after numerous attempts to convince Boston GM to part with the 36 goal winger, Burke's offer was too hard to refuse
Video: For next trick, Jason Allison will rip phone book in half
Without the benefit of a medical examination or a footrace, there's really no way to emphatically prove Toronto Maple Leafs center Jason Allison(notes) isn't in fact a zombie. Because circumstantial evidence presented here, in a preseason game against the Philadelphia Flyers, suggests an insatiable appetite for braaaains... Couldn't have said it any better than Jeffler...
Toronto Maple Leafs continue their long tradition of being Stanley Cup contenders in preseason, expected to post usual 6-76 record when the games actually start to mean something

Nazem Kadri Could Stay Around
One can bet that scoring a goal in front of so many friends and family members while wearing the Toronto Maple Leafs uniform is to date the greatest thrill for 18 year-old forward Nazem Kadri...Read the full article on Bleacher Report...
Sources: Boston Bruins trade Phil Kessel to Toronto Maple Leafs for draft picks
Toronto Maple Leafs GM acquired winger Phil Kessel from the Boston Bruins on Friday in a mega deal that had been rumored for more than a week.
Recap: Pittsburgh vs. Toronto
Ian White, John Mitchell and Jason Blake each had a goal and an assist to lead Toronto to a 4-3 preseason win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Tim Panaccio: Brutal
As I watched last night's 4-0 debacle in London, Ont., on Flyers "home" ice, I could not help but feel the Toronto Maple Leafs looked like the home club.
I never put too much stock into pre-season football and especially, pre-season hockey.
But as I saw the Flyers going through the motions and being outplayed everywhere on the ice and out hit, too, I thought Brian...
Kevin Gibson: KGB; A Tale Of Two Nights
Here are my observations from the Leafs first two pre-season games, or are they exhibition games? You make the call.
Joey MacDonald, very cool with the Bunny Larocque mask, I like it. Which begs the question, when is the Jiri Crha tribute mask coming?
The Palmateer mask gets used every night in the intermission, goalie goon contest. That's just not right.
Who's impressed...
