I could be a tough night for Atlanta. They left most of their big scorers at home and Predators gave away free tickets to produce a good pre-season crowd.
The Thrashers don't have that many spots up for grabs during the pre-season, but we will see almost all of the candidates to for the 13th...

Prospects from the Atlanta Thrashers and Nashville Predators squared off for two games at the Thrashersâ?? practice rink in Duluth, Georgia. 500 tickets were available for each game and it looked like just about every one of them were put to good use as fans got a chance to see the young-uns perform in game situations.

Kari Lehtonen has gone into the last four seasons with the â??Number One Goalieâ? label affixed to his collar. Thatâ??s looking less and less to be the case this year, though.

The Minnesota Wild decided after two practice sessions that they wanted to offer Petr Sykora a contract for this season. The Atlanta Thrashers brass are hoping that Max Afinogenov will impress in much the same manner.
ATL GM Don Waddell and his right hand man, Rick Dudley, are looking to kickstart their offense. They are intrigued by Max's skillset.

The Nashville Predators treated their fans to a 5-0 win over the visiting Atlanta Thrashers. Among the highlight were the Preds official unveiling of the 3rd jersey, Colin Wilson's debut, and the Preds top line powering the team already. Needless to say, the 14,103 in attendance went home happy.

The Atlanta Thrashers have announced that Maxim Afinogenov has been invited to their training camp for a pro tryout. He should be in town by Thursday night.
In a comment made to the AJC, general manager Don Waddell said, â??Heâ??s a high-end guy, a skill guyâ?¦it doesnâ??t hurt [bring him in] weâ??ll see what happensâ?.

Just left the Atlanta Thrashers - Nashville Predators prospect game. Some quick impressions:
- I don't know if all 500 folks who bought tickets showed up, but the crowd was excellent tonight
