The big day is near.

With the end of June right around the corner, the day Caps fans have been eagerly waiting for is near. It’s going to be amazing. People will talk. Money will be spent. Lives will change.

After June 30th, nothing will be the same around here.

KARL ALZNER’S GETTING MARRIED!

What, you thought I was talking about NHL free agency?

So, in celebration of Karl and Mandy’s big day, we here at Rock the Red give you the random factsheet about the happy couple's big day.

-While their official wedding website doesn’t mention it, Alzner’s dogs will play a prominent role in the ceremonies: they’ll be opening the cage to let the doves out. Of course, then they’ll be going after the appetizers and everything else not bolted down.

-Speaking of the dogs, it looks like purple will be a prominent color in the wedding. This is not surprising given that Alzner was seen betting Drew Doughty about something earlier this season…

-Karl and Mandy will be wed in downtown Vancouver, which will be the only celebration the city sees this year. Unless that “At least we lost to the Cup Winner!” parade counts.

-Karl’s playoff beard will get its own tux and read Corinthians 13:4. Everyone loves that passage.

-John Carlson won’t be allowed to attend the ceremonies. Everyone is afraid he’ll object and yell “NOOO! He’s MY defensive partner!!!”

-I’m not saying the reception entertainment is going to be huge, but the DJ’s name rhymes with Smalex Smosmethkin.

-On Bruce Boudreau’s RSVP card, he checked the “WILL ATTEND" box and wrote "+1. If sundae bar, +3.”

-While we don’t have any information about the couple’s wedding registry, this and this are always a hit with the newlyweds.

Congrats to Karl and Mandy. Enjoy your big day!!!
