The first five minutes of the game seemed to set the tone but the fans in Columbus were disappointed once more. The Blue Jackets came heavy early on and Cody Bass would not stop trying to get a fight in his favor going. The game totaled 42 penalty minutes giving Columbus six empty power plays. It was no surprise to witness this when historically Columbus has never had a working special unit.

I just read this stat from @dtolensky on twitter:
"Columbus' performance in the first 10 games is the worst start by any team since the lockout"
He goes on to say that to reach the playoffs the Jackets will have to climb out of a hole that is deeper than any team post lockout has ever climbed out of before.
I am just speechless. I still cannot believe this team...

4-2 loss in Buffalo comes down to special teams. While the hapless Blue Jackets went a horrid (even for them) 0 of 6, the Sabres went 2 for 3. Conveniently, the margin of victory. Columbus is an unworldly 10% with the man advantage on the season. Despite peppering Ryan Miller's stand-in for 43 shots, the team just cannot score on consistent basis. Jeff Carter is still out. What a mess.
