from Ed Willes of the Vancouver Province,
It's hard to know when the forces of evil kidnapped the Western Conference and held it for ransom in Jacques Lemaire's basement. The L.A. Kings Stanley Cup victory? Maybe. But, long before the Kings hoisted the chalice, the darkness had already taken hold in St. Louis, in Nashville, in Phoenix, in Minnesota.
The erosion of the Detroit Red Wings? That might have had more to do with it. When the Wings were winning, there was still the idea that you could have success with speed and skill. When they began to deteriorate, it became easier to align yourself with Satan.
But, however it happened, make no mistake this is the world in which the Vancouver Canucks now find themselves in the West. It is a violent world. It's an unforgiving world. And the only way to have success in that world is to be as mean and ugly as the cloven-hooved opposition.

Daniel Sedin and Jannik Hansen scored 2:44 apart late in the second period to lead the Vancouver Canucks to a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.
Dan Hamhuis, Mason Raymond and Chris Higgins, into an empty net, also scored for Vancouver, which put forth a strong effort against the defending Stanley Cup champions to stop a two-game losing streak.

The Vancouver Canucks have hit the skids – they are 2-3-2 over their last seven games, have lost two straight in Regulation time and they are 0-2-1 in their last three games on home ice. Yikes! The Canucks welcome the hated LA Kings to town on Saturday night who are currently on a five...
Saturday Night’s All Right for Regicide
The break is finally over and the Vancouver Canucks are back in action tonight against the Los Angeles Kings.
It’s been a weird few days in Canuck land so it’ll be nice to distract from all the off-ice drama with some actual hockey.
It’s Saturday night and the rival Kings are in town, it can’t be any better.

In true Calgary fashion, after two troubling losses, the Flames battled back against a top team and came out with a 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks. This was a big win for the Flames; they outplayed the 1st place team in the Northwest in front of the hometown crowdâ¦and I donât want to hear about excuses that Vancouver arrived late...
On March 16th the Canucks will breakout throwback Vancouver Millionaires jerseys when they take on the Detroit Red Wings. The Millionaires, originally of the PCHA and WCHL won the Stanley Cup one-time in 1915 when the defeated the Ottawa Senators of the NHA. Burn After Watching
With the horrible weather in Calgary holding the Canucks in Vancouver Sunday morning, you began to wonder what to expect when the puck dropped at the Saddledome.
The travel wasn’t long, but hockey players have routines and disruptions to that routine during a home and away back-to-back can cause the type of flux that leads to what we saw last night.
It's Brigitte from One Girl, One Puck with an in-depth look at the Los Angeles Kings opponent for Saturday, March 2nd... the Vancouver Canucks! Or as I like to call it... shooting fish in a barrel!

We have nine NHL games on the schedule for today, with six Eastern Conference games followed by three Western Conference games.
Probably the game of the night is Vancouver Canucks hosting the LA Kings.
A special bonus for fans in the US is the NHL Network will be broadcasting a Hockey Night in Canada doubleheader beginning at 6:30pm ET (Inside Hockey, HNIC pre-game).
The San Jose Sharks started to do a better job of limiting the Sedin brothers last season, and they know that's critical against the Vancouver Canucks.
The Sharks held the Sedins without a point earlier this year, and these teams meet again Tuesday night in Vancouver - where San Jose has failed to win in regulation in its last eight visits including the postseason.

After an interesting couple of days, the Calgary Flames will try to regroup as they take on the Vancouver Canucks at the Saddledome. Vancouver, who sits 8 points ahead of Calgary, is 8th overall and 1st in the Northwest, so tonightâs game will be no easy feat for the Flames.
Weâve faced off against the Canucks twice this season and...
