Stop us if you’ve heard this one before. The San Jose Sharks have won seven games in a row and look poised to be strong contenders for the playoffs. We all said that at the end of January when San Jose was 7-0-0 to open the season. With their 2-1 win over woeful Calgary, the Sharks again have a seven-game winning streak. Joe Pavelski got the game winner in the final two minutes of regulation for the Sharks while Dan Boyle had the other San Jose goal. Mikael Backlund lit the lamp for Calgary and Miikka Kiprusoff made 39 saves in the losing effort. SPIN: Calgary has now lost 11 in a row on the road and should be avoided as they play out the string in the season’s final three weeks. The Sharks will not extend their win streak any farther than their next game which is also at home against Dallas. That game will wrap up six in a row at home coming off a road game at Anaheim. With longer trips to Columbus, Detroit, Dallas and Phoenix coming up look for the Sharks to go 2-2 at best on that...

T.J. Galiardi scores goal on spinning backhander

We thought Dan Boyle’s end-to-end goal weaving around defenders earlier this week was a candidate for goal of the year. But after Sunday, it might not even be the most impressive Sharks goal in the last week. T.J. Galiardi is going to give Boyle a run for his money on bragging rights for best goal with this spinning backhand off a loose puck Sunday against the Stars: Simply astounding...

Raffi Torres, Scott Hannan won’t make Sharks debuts vs. Flames on Friday

The two newest Sharks won’t be making their debuts with the team on Friday at home vs. the Flames. Acquired in a pair of deals on Wednesday before the league’s trade deadline, Raffi Torres and Scott Hannan won’t be in the lineup because of health reasons. Hannan, as we previously mentioned, has been out since March 17 with an upper body injury and will need to miss more time...

Sharks 2, Flames 1

Joe Pavelski scored on a rebound with 2:06 remaining to lead the San Jose Sharks to their seventh straight victory, 2-1 over the Calgary Flames on Friday night. Dan Boyle scored the tying goal early in the third period and Antti Niemi made 23 saves for the Sharks, who matched their season-opening, seven-game winning streak. San Jose remained perfect through six games of a seven...

(AP) -- Jamie Benn scored the lone goal in the shootout and Kari Lehtonen stopped all three attempts as the Dallas Stars snapped the San Jose Sharks' seven-game winning streak with a 5-4, come-from-behind victory on Sunday. Cam Gore: Flames at San Jose pre-game

The Sharks will try to make it seven wins in a row for the second time this season as they host a depleted Calgary Flames team at the Shark Tank. The Sharks began this shortened season with a seven game win streak and caught a number of teams off their mark. San Jose had a number of players who came into the season game ready after playing overseas and in many cases coasted to victories....

San Jose can extend its winning streak to eight by earning a fifth consecutive home victory over the Dallas Stars on Sunday. The Sharks (20-11-6) sat in ninth place in the West prior to their streak, but...
