Please recall Vrbata abandoned the Lightning after a disastrous start (and due in part to some issues with his wife's pregnancy), heading to the Czech Republic early last season. That came after he signed a three-year, $9 million free-agent deal following a breakout year with Phoenix. From Lightning Strikes:GM Brian Lawton, though, had said Vrbata did not fit into the Lightning's plans for next season and said Vrbata's agent Rich Evans could try to find Vrbata another NHL team with which to play.
