It didn’t take long for USA to take care of the Germans in Thursday’s World Juniors tilt.
Sean Kuraly found the five-hole just 19 seconds into this one and the United States never looked back, crushing the Germans 8-0. Eight different Americans scored in the lopsided victory, but it was the line consisting of Kuraly, Alex Galchenyuk and Reilly Barber that stood out, combining for three goals and five assists for eight points.
Jacob Trouba, Shayne Gostisbehere, Ryan Hartman, J.T. Miller and Seth Jones also scored for the Americans. Starter John Gibson stopped all 19 shots he faced in two periods of action while his replacement, Jon Gillies, stopped all seven shots he faced.
USA squares off with Russia on Friday.
Check out the goals in the video below, featuring an impressive Galchenyuk snapshot that beats German netminder Marvin Cüpper top shelf around the 1:05 mark.
