Since the Washington Capitals didn’t play on Wednesday night, I’m guessing that this occurred during the Capitals Tuesday night 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders.  This obviously isn’t Alex Ovechkin’s first time getting stitched up, but in typical Ovechkin fashion, he seemed to take it as a joke.  After all, this is the guy that lost one of his fake teeth when he took it out to play basketball and hasn’t gotten it replaced since.  Plus, being on a bit of a hot streak will put anyone in a good mood. After hockey!! 22 stitches hahaha ))) twitter.com/ovi8/status/31… — Alex Ovechkin (@ovi8) March 28, 2013

Alex Ovechkin takes puck to face during practice, gets a nasty cut (Picture)

The only thing worse than taking a puck to the face and gashing your chin open during a game is taking a puck to the face and gashing your chin open during practice. Alex Ovechkin could attest to that, although the Washington Capitals star seemed to take it quite well. According to the Washington Post, Ovechkin took a puck to the face during Thursday’s practice and had to leave...

Alex Ovechkin Tweets Pictures After Taking Puck To The Face

Contrary to Mike Milbury’s beliefs, Alex Ovechkin is one tough dude. He took a puck to the face in practice today and received 22 stitches. Ovechkin tweeted a couple pictures of his wound, which he apparently found to be very funny. As a side note, I think someone should teach Ovi how to properly construct an internet smiley face.   [SI] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

Ovi Is A Hockey Player

Alex Ovechkin took a puck to the chin in practice this morning, forcing him to leave the ice early. Afterward, he posted a photo of the wound on Twitter, along with this: “It’s hockey ))) hahaha”: Two things: 1) If I ever receive a gash this big to my person, I will be crying and calling 911, not lol’ing; 2) I’m impressed by Ovi’s proper use of “it’s” vs. “its...

Capitals-Sabres Preview

After giving the Washington Capitals a lift during their last road swing, Braden Holtby looks to continue his recent success away from home as they begin another trip. He might not have to face the Buffalo Sabres' leading scorer in the opener. Holtby and the Capitals seek their fourth straight road win and a season sweep of the Sabres for the first time in 24 years on Saturday...

Hitting the Reset Button

I commend to your attention the most recent fit of gutsy thoughtfulness from my blogger buddy Ed Frankovic, who with commendable clarity of consideration arrives at this sobering recommendation as it relates to the handling of the Capitals roster here in late March: tear it down, and quite a bit. He’s right. If you’re a regular reader here you’ve long known where I stand...
