Frederik Andersen made 32 saves to stay perfect in four NHL games, and Corey Perry and Kyle Palmieri scored first-period goals to lead the road-weary Anaheim Ducks to a 2-1 victory over the New York Rangers on Monday night. The Ducks finished a season-high, eight-game road trip 5-2-1 -- including 5-0-1 in the final six games. Perry and Palmieri staked Anaheim to a 2-0 lead just 9:09 in, and the 24-year-old Andersen did the rest. In four NHL games, all this season, Andersen is 4-0. He has allowed a total of five goals, and only defenseman Michael Del Zotto got a puck past him in this one. Ryan McDonagh pressed for the tying goal with 6:00 remaining in the game, and was twice denied on hard shots. Benoit Pouliot then had an in-close backhander stopped with 5:17 left, but drew a penalty.

Ducks' Selanne could return Wednesday

That dreaded trip to the dentist's office turned out to be less unpleasant than anticipated for Teemu Selanne, who flashed new pearly whites Tuesday and declared he's "ready to go" for Wednesday night's Ducks' game against the Phoenix Coyotes. Selanne, 43, was struck on Oct. 29 with a high stick from Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Luke Schenn, and was originally...

Ducks Cap Off Eight-Game Road Trip with 2-1 Victory in New York

The Anaheim Ducks wanted to end a season-long eight-game road trip on a winning note. And that they did, as the Ducks grinded out a 2-1 victory at Madison Square Garden on Monday night. New York native Kyle Palmieri scored the winning goal and rookie netminder Frederik Andersen made 32 saves for the Ducks. Corey Perry also scored for Anaheim, which went 5-2-1 on the road trip. ...

Ryan McDonagh dumps Corey Perry into bench twice in one shift

This might be our new favorite video of the young NHL season. Ryan McDonagh hitting Corey Perry into the New York bench was humorous enough as is, but the play reached epic proportions when it happened twice on the same shift. It's fairly rare a player is hit over the boards and into the bench, but the odds of it happening twice in a little under 15 seconds is insanity.  ...

Steve Palumbo: Ducks 5 on 5 Play Was the Key to Successful Road Trip

Teemu Selanne is ready to return tonight

Teemu Selanne skated in the teams Tuesday practice, got his dental work done and it looks like he will get back to action sooner than everyone thought. He told the Los Angeles Times that he is good to go against the Phoenix Coyotes tonight. Selanne said, “I’m ready.”  “I skated today, and I’ve been skating a couple days already.” Selanne, 43, will be re-evaluated during...

Corey Perry checked into Rangers bench twice in 10 seconds

Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry is a highly talented player but gets on a lot of players nerves as a pest.  It seems that New York Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh was quite frustrated with Perry and ended up dumping Perry into the Rangers bench twice in about ten seconds.  McDonagh knew exactly what he was doing and whom he was doing it to, especially when he held Perry down...

Ryan McDonagh Hits Corey Perry Into Rangers Bench Twice in One Shift (Video)

Take a seat, Corey Perry. No, the other one. It was deja vu in the second period for the Ducks forward. With Anaheim up 2-1 as the second frame closed, Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh challenged Perry for a puck along the boards. Unfortunately for Perry, the puck happened to be along the New York bench, and when the biscuit slid past them, McDonagh planted his opponent into the...

Ryan McDonagh Rudely Introduced Corey Perry To The Rangers’ Bench Twice In a Row

The Anaheim Ducks and New York Rangers game got a bit chippy towards the end of the second period thanks to Ryan McDonagh checking Corey Perry into the Rangers’ bench area not once, but twice in a row. Not surprisingly the Rangers’ bench didn’t roll out the red welcome carpet for the Ducks’ Perry. Definitely not something you see every day. [Some Hockey Videos, NESN] Article...
