Anze Kopitar broke his ankle in the second period of Los Angeles Kings’ victory over the Colorado Avalanche today. While battling for control of the puck, his right skate blade appeared to catch on the ice. He then lost his balance, falling as his ankle twisted underneath him. He stayed down on the ice for several moments before being helped off. The Kings have announced Kopitar has a broken ankle and will miss at least six weeks. He will undergo an MRI Monday to determine the full extent of the damage. For more click here and read the game recap. VIDEO
