Found January 29, 2013 on NY Rangers Blog:
First there was the "Girls'' Guide to Watching Rangers Hockey", now apparently a Facebook page has popped up for the purpose of securing support to create a New York Rangers Dance team named the Rangerettes. Here's the first Facebook entry... "My intentions to start this team are to motivate the crowd at home games, be public figures for all Ranger fans, hold fundraisers blood drives and other money raising functions for the blue shirts and to hold clinics for younger girls and boys ( noones excluded) to dance and show support for the team they love! SHOW YOUR BLUE SHIRT PRIDE AND HELP ME GET THIS STARTED :) I want to do it all for NYR" The page currently has 605 "likes" and is in the process of organizing try-outs. ...from what I can gather from the page, the Rangers have absolutely no affiliation with this potential dance team. ...while I appreciate the enthusiasm and I never turn down the opportunity to watch an attracti...

Thoughts on Torts’ even strength and power play line changes

According to Andrew Gross at Rangers Rants, Torts juggled the line combos today at practice with both his even strength and power play units. Gross reported the following line combos: Nash-Richards-Gaborik Hagelin-Stepan-Callahan Pyatt-Boyle-Ferriero Rupp-Halpern-Asham Should these lines stay in tact, it appears Hagelin is moving up the second line and Pyatt is going back to the...

Ryan Callahan Suffers Apparent Arm Injury, No Word on How Much Time He’ll Miss (Video)

The Rangers could be looking at some time without one of their best players. Captain Ryan Callahan suffered what appeared to be a pretty painful left arm injury Tuesday night in the third period of New York’s 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Callahan took exception to a little extracurricular activity from Philly’s Max Talbot around the Rangers net, and the two ended up...

Video- Ryan Callahan Injury

The Rangers have not given an update on the status of the injury Callahan suffered tonight. By the looks of it, is appears to be a shoulder injury.   added 10:21pm,   Talbot on Callahan incident: "We decided to go and we were holding each other up and his shoulder popped out or something. Unfortunate." — Dave Lozo (@DaveLozo) January 30, 2013

Callahan out 10-14 days

Per Bob McKenzie, captain Ryan Callahan is out 10-14 days with a shoulder subluxation, which means that Cally’s shoulder popped out of its socket real fast, then settled back in. This could have been a lot worse, but the Rangers will definitely miss Cally while he is out for those two weeks. While he’s out, expect Carl Hagelin and Taylor Pyatt to get a lot of time with Derek Stepan. Tweet

Nash Not Scoring

Rick Nash has 1 goal on 26 shots. Rangers Hang On to Beat the Flyers

The New York Rangers survived a frantic third period to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers tonight by a score of 2-1 at Madison Square Garden. The way the Blueshirts played tonight is exactly the kind of style that won the team many games last season. They got some timely scoring from defenseman Michael Del Zotto and team captain Ryan Callahan before relying on their penalty killing...

Penguins-Rangers Preview

The New York Rangers appear to be back on track after a poor start to the season. The opposite has been true for the Pittsburgh Penguins, whose sudden dropoff after a solid opening has them searching for answers. The Rangers, though, will try to begin making do without captain Ryan Callahan as they look to stop a pair of losing streaks against Pittsburgh on Thursday night. New...
