Pro Sports Daily:
Colorado Avalanche goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere suffered a groin injury during Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.
Giguere suffered the injury during the first period, but told the Denver Post that he isn't too concerned.
"I'm not too worried about it," the 34-year-old Giguere told the newspaper. "I'm not sure what it is, but I honestly don't think it's anything serious."
A Conn Smythe Trophy winner in 2003, Giguere has posted a 14-9-2 mark with one shutout and a 2.13 goals-against average this season.
BEST OF MAXIM
Midway through the first period against the Vancouver Canucks, the Colorado Avalanche got some news that will not please them.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere, the player who has kept the Avs in the playoff race, left the game with a groin injury.
No word how serious it is but he is out for this game at the very least.
Down at Lake Erie, Cedrick Desjardins is currently injured as...
As the NHL trade deadline looms, every player is undoubtedly aware of the February 27th date. For many players, they will call new cities home in two weeks' time, don a different jersey, have their paychecks signed by a different team and ultimately, try to help that team win. For every other player, they will likely have a slightly new-look team as their teammates...
The Colorado Avalanche will have to try to improve on its 2-14-1 divisional record without its two best scorers.
Peter Mueller (torso) and Matt Duchene (knee) are both out of tonight's game against the Edmonton Oilers, according to the Denver Post.
Mueller did not participate in the morning skate but Duchene did and Duchene does have a "small chance" of playing...
EDMONTON – Peter Mueller indeed won’t play tonight. Avs are adamant it’s a torso injury, not a concussion. I’m not disputing it. Of course, I’m unable to talk with Mueller himself, nor him to me, because it’s a strict team rule that injured players not speak to media.
Matt Duchene won’t play tonight, but his status has been upgraded to day-to-day. Sounds like there...
EDMONTON – Well, so much for Peter Mueller skating today, like I/we were led to believe. He is not out there right now as the Avs take part in their morning skate at Rexall Place. I’ll have an update afterward to try and find out more what’s going on. Everybody else on the roster is out there, including Mark Olver, freshly called up from Lake Erie.
Matt Duchene is skating again...

The Post's NHL reporter answers your questions in Adrian Dater's Avs Mailbag. In this installment, Adrian takes seven questions, including one wondering if the Avs are willing to part with defenders before the trade deadline.
Join me won’t you?
Avs just got late word of a scratch: Peter Mueller (torso). Not great. No, nobody says it’s anything otherwise. Mueller did skate this morning.
The Colorado Avalanche are very much in the mix for a playoff spot, but they may need to improve their play quickly to stay there.
Getting a better result against the last-place Edmonton Oilers would certainly help.
Colorado looks to avoid a third straight loss overall and fourth in five meetings with Edmonton this season when the teams meet at Rexall Place on Friday night.
The Vancouver Canucks will try to continue their recent dominance of Colorado when they welcome the Avalanche for tonight's Northwest Division clash at Rogers Arena.
