The Avalanche have named forward Milan Hejduk the third captain in Colorado history.Hejduk joins Joe Sakic and Adam Foote as the only players to captain the club since it was relocated from Quebec City. The veteran winger has spent his entire career with the Avalanche, who selected him in the fourth round of the 1994 draft while still based in Quebec.Hejduk, 35, has seven goals and five assists in 17 games so far this season.The Czech native has 769 career points, ranking him fourth all-time in franchise history behind Sakic, Peter Stastny and Michel Goulet.
