The Colorado Avalanche have been red-hot as of late and the talk has been focused on Nathan MacKinnon or Matt Duchene. So its not surprising at all that Alex Tanguay‘s great play has been slipping under the radar, but that may change now that he is injured.
The Avalanche announced during the game via their Twitter feed that the 33 year old winger would not return to last Saturday’s game against the Canadian’s of Montreal due to a knee injury. Tanguay has been very productive in his second stint with the Avs. He has nine points in 12 games so far this season. This includes a three game point streak that ended this past Saturday. During his streak he accumulated one goal and three assists.
He began his career with the Avalanche in 1999-2000 and his first run ended in 2005-06. He scored 77 points on three different occasions. The Avs are hoping this is a minor set back as he has been fitting back in like he never left.
