Pro Sports Daily:
Florida Panthers right winger Krys Barch has been suspended one game by the National Hockey League for directing a racial slur at Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K.
Barch was given a game misconduct for uttering the slur. Linesman Darren Gibb heard the comment directed toward Subban, who is black, during a scrum near the end of the first period.Following the game last Saturday, Subban said he didn't hear Barch say anything to him.
“I don’t even know what happened, really. A couple of guys on the ice
told me that something was said," Subban said. "I don’t know what was
said, I didn’t hear it. As far as I’m concerned it’s really out of my
hands, so I don’t really know too much about it.”
Barch, acquired in a trade with Dallas last month, has no points on the season. He'll sit out Thursday's game against the New York Rangers.
