Chicago Blackhawks agitator Daniel Carcillo underwent surgery to repair his ACL in his left knee and will likely be sidelined for six months.
Blackhawks team physician Dr. Michael Terry confirmed the procedure on Tuesday.
Carcillo suffered the injury after he launched himself at Edmonton's Tom Gilbert on Jan. 2. The Chicago forward was suspended seven games for the hit.
Carcillo has collected two goals, nine assists and 82 penalty minutes this season with the Blackhawks.
