The Chicago Blackhawks have suggested Patrick Kane seek counseling after the latest alcohol-related incident involving the star center, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Wednesday.
Earlier this month, photos surfaced of the 23-year-old partying at Cinco de Mayo celebrations near the University of Wisconsin. Numerous people wrote anonymously to the website Deadspin with details of Kane's allegedly embarrassing behavior. One photo showed Kane lying amid a pile of empty beer cans; others showed him in bars.
"He's obviously got some issues," a team source told the Sun-Times. "How many more times can these things happen? It's a much bigger thing than some photographs in a 48-hour window."
The Blackhawks had refrained from commenting on Kane's exploits until Tuesday, when general manager Stan Bowman said the team discussed the situation with Kane and was handling the matter "internally." A source told the Sun-Times the team has suggested Kane seek help.
"We're obviously disappointed with how it played it out, and Patrick is aware of that fact," Bowman said.
"But at this point, it's a private matter. I think, out of respect for Patrick, we're not going to comment further. We're going to look forward and try to focus on things in improving our team leading into the summer."
It is not the first time the supremely talented center has made headlines away from the ice. In August 2009, he was arrested in his hometown of Buffalo after he was accused of punching a cab driver. He pleaded guilty to a noncriminal charge of disorderly conduct.
The three-time All-Star scored the overtime winner that clinched the 2010 Stanley Cup for the Blackhawks over Philadelphia. Kane played all 82 games for Chicago this season, recording 23 goals and 43 assists.

Patrick Kane has been put on double secret probation. That's only fitting after his Animal House imitation early this month at the University of Wisconsin. The Blackhawks star made headlines when photos surfaced across the web of Kane partying around the Madison campus during the Cinco do Mayo celebration, including one photo of him passed out at a bar. The organization had remained...
Patrick Kane is an All-Star, a Stanley Cup champion and a reckless party animal. The Blackhawks are pleased with two of those three, and it's pretty obvious which one has drawn the ire of the organization. The team's concern with Kane's off-ice antics, however, may go beyond general manager Stan Bowman's unhappiness. According to Adam Jahns of the Chicago-Sun Times...

BC reader J.D. in Evanston sent word last night that Busted made an appearance on the local news. “Dude, I was watching ABC7 last night and all of a sudden there are the Kaner photos and BC on the sports. Couldn’t believe it.” Well, we were kinda tipped off that ABC-Chicago was going to use the drunken Kane pics. We just didn’t know they’d use them in this context of a...
