A 24-game point streak and franchise-best 11-game winning streak have highlighted a record-setting start for the Chicago Blackhawks, and they find themselves rolling again as their road trip comes to a close.
That success has overshadowed the surging Anaheim Ducks, who seem just as much the Stanley Cup contender as Chicago.
Anaheim has won a team-record 12 straight home games and earned at least one point in 11 straight overall, and it will look to end Chicago's three-game winning streak Wednesday night in a matchup of the top teams in the Western Conference.
While the Blackhawks (24-2-3) have received heavy coverage and recently graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, the Ducks (21-3-4) have been making a splash of their own, complementing their sizzling start by signing two franchise cornerstones to long-term deals.
Anaheim, which won 3-2 in a shootout at Chicago on Feb. 12, is 8-0-3 in its last 11 following a 5-3 win over San Jose on Monday. The Ducks are within five poin...

Corey Perry is following Ryan Getzlaf's lead yet again, sticking the Anaheim Ducks for the long term.
Perry agreed to an eight-year, $69 million contract extension with the Ducks on Monday night, keeping the former NHL MVP with the club through the 2020-21 NHL season.
Perry's new deal is the same length as the extension signed by Getzlaf earlier this month - the longest...
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Anaheim Ducks insisted the game had nothing to do with making a statement, but there was really no other way to look at it. So much attention has been paid to the Chicago Blackhawks this season that maybe this was Anaheim's way of making sure someone took notice.
It will happen now. The Ducks still have the second-best record in the NHL, but they left...

In the matter of weeks, the Anaheim Ducks have locked two core players for the next eight years. Captain Ryan Getzlaf signed an eight-year, $66 million extension 10 days ago, and now Getzlaf’s linemate, right wing Corey Perry, has signed an identical contract.
Perry, the 28th...
Eight more years! Ten days after signing captain Ryan Getzlaf to a contract extension, Corey Perry signed one, too.
Perry signed a $69 million deal that also has a no movement clause, just like Getzlaf.
Perry, 27, already has a Stanley Cup, an Olympic gold medal, and a Memorial Cup. He has won the Hart Trophy for NHL MVP and the Rocket Richard Trophy as well...
The day card companies exclusively produce cardboard which combines my favorite players, multi-colored minor league memorabilia, a sleek design, and a limited print-run is the day I officially go broke. I can't resist that amalgam of traits.Hence why I couldn't help but acquire the above beauty when it appeared on eBay recently. It's the Gold Version and is thus limited...
from Eric Stephens of Ducks Blog,
They'll need to look at retaining would-be unrestricted free agents Ben Lovejoy and David Steckel but both wouldn't cost too much. Kyle Palmieri is restricted and shouldn't price the Ducks out of their budget.
If anything, Toni Lydman, who's making $3 million this season, figures to be the odd man out. Moving Luca Sbisa isn...
Only a little more than a week removed from the extension of Ryan Getzlaf, the Anahiem Ducks announced on Monday evening that they’ve agreed to an eight-year extension with forward Corey Perry worth $69 million. Perry was set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season and the Ducks organization felt that they couldn’t risk letting him hit the open market.
After the Anaheim Ducks recently re-signed their captain Ryan Getzlaf to an eight-year extension most fans figured right winger Corey Perry’s days were numbered with the NHL team. However, that didn’t turn out to be the case as the Ducks signed Perry to a similar eight-year deal on March 18 before he had the chance to test the free agent market at the end of the current season...
Ryan Getzlaf set up Bobby Ryan's tying goal and Teemu Selanne's tiebreaker 1:04 apart late in the third period, and the Anaheim Ducks rallied for a 4-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night in a meeting of the NHL's top two teams.
Jonas Hiller stopped 22 shots, and Peter Holland and Sheldon Souray scored as the Ducks extended their franchise-record home...
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) -- Emerson Etem had his first NHL goal and an assist, defenseman Francois Beauchemin scored two goals, and the Anaheim Ducks beat the San Jose Sharks 5-3 Monday night for their 12th consecutive home victory.
Viktor Fasth made 32 saves for the streaking Ducks, who have the NHL's second-best record at 21-3-4 while earning a point in 11 straight games.
Beautiful goal by former Fighting Sioux forward Jonathan Toews as he makes Aniheim Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller look sick. The Blackhawks ended up losing the game 4-2.

This was an easy night for the F**K You Fantasy POTN because we only have one award winner. Yes it is rare but sometimes these things do happen. There is not much to this Monday night but we have one award winner and it was just too obvious and too embarrassing.
