Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville adjusted his lines for practice on Tuesday, inserting Brandon Bollig in place of speedy wing Viktor Stalberg and breaking up Jonathan Toews (tayvz) and Patrick Kane. The Blackhawks are preparing to play the Boston Bruins in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on Wednesday night. Bollig would provide a bigger body against the physical Bruins, while Stalberg is a more skilled offensive player. Toews and Kane, two of Chicago's biggest stars, played on the same line for the last part of the Western Conference finals against Los Angeles. Kane responded with three goals in the clinching Game 5, including the winner in the second overtime off a pass from Toews. Splitting Toews and Kane would give Quenneville more scoring balance in his lines.

Andrew Shaw drops F-Bomb during post-Game 1 interview

Andrew Shaw netted the game-winning goal for the Blackhawks in triple overtime in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final, so he was understandably very excited during his postgame interview with NBC’s Pierre McGuire immediately following the big goal. That might explain the f-bomb he dropped about 10 seconds into the interview: “It was a great shot, great tip…f**kin’ unbelievable...

Bollig may replace Stalberg

Viktor Stalberg knows why he might not get to play when the Chicago Blackhawks host the Boston Bruins in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on Wednesday night. That doesn't make the development any easier for him. Stalberg skated outside the top four lines when Chicago practiced at the United Center on Tuesday, and coach Joel Quenneville also broke up the combination of Jonathan...

Blackhawks Defenseman Duncan Keith Grew Up a Bruins Fan, Idolized Ray Bourque

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith is from Winnipeg, so you might think that he would have grown up in the early to mid-90s as a fan of the Jets — these Jets, of course. However, a young Keith grew up rooting for a team that played its hockey almost 2,000 miles away. Now, as a 29-year-old blue liner in the NHL, Keith will have to go through the team he grew up rooting for...

Shaw’s triple OT winner gives Blackhawks Game 1 of Cup Final

Andrew Shaw celebrates his triple OT game-winner. It ended as the fifth-longest game in Stanley Cup Final history, and thanks to Andrew Shaw, it ended in victory for the Chicago Blackhawks. Shaw’s deflection of a pinballing puck that started out as a Michael Handzus shot from the point gave Chicago the win at 12:08 of the third overtime period, and a 1-0 series lead for the Cup...

Chicago Blackhawks fan has ‘playoff lawn’ cut down by city

Chicago Blackhawks fan Frank Miller has come up with an idea for those fans who cannot show up to work rocking a playoff beard. Rather than going months without shaving, Miller decided he would let his front lawn grow until the Blackhawks hoist the Stanley Cup. Shaving can be an epic pain in the you-know-what, [...]

Bruins-Blackhawks: The Chicago Tribune’s Steve Rosenbloom Says Tuukka Rask “Is Not That Good” (VIDEO)

Well, there is the first shot across the bow from the Chicago media. Steve Rosenbloom of the Chicago Tribune says that Tuukka Rask is not that good. Ok, let me get this straight. Tuukka is 12-4 and just led the Bruins to the Stanley Cup Final. He has a 1.75 GAA which is second only to Blackhawks’ goalie Corey Crawford (who played one more game). Rask has the BEST save percentage...

Andrew Shaw’s ‘Pest Factor Is as High if Not Higher’ Than Brad Marchand’s, Says Pierre McGuire

It’s Stanley Cup Final week which means everyone will be comparing everything leading up to the biggest, best and final hockey series of the season. From the crease out, everyone on the Bruins will be matched up with everyone on the Blackhawks and the Andrew Shaw-Brad Marchand contrasts seem to be dominating early on. Shaw, like Marchand, is a little ball of hate in his own right...

Blackhawks Respect, Aware of Bruins’ Ability Despite Any Potential Unfamiliarity With B’s

The Bruins and Blackhawks haven’t played each other since Oct. 15, 2011, but that doesn’t mean the Hawks aren’t aware of what the Bruins are capable of doing. The last time these two teams met was just five months to the date that the Bruins won the 2011 Stanley Cup, and when they finally meet again it will be for the 2013 Stanley Cup. So it goes without saying that the Blackhawks...
