Chicago Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa left Tuesday's Game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinal series on a stretcher after a brutal hit from Raffi Torres of the Phoenix Coyotes.
Torres left his feet and blasted Hossa with his shoulder after the latter had just passed the puck near the boards at center ice.
Hossa remained on the ice for nearly five minutes as medical personnel tended to him.
Torres, who wasn't penalized on the play, has a history against the Blackhawks. Last season, Torres - who was then with the Vancouver Canucks - lowered the boom on defenseman Brent Seabrook, injuring him in Game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinal series.
