Chicago Blackhawks forward Colin Blackwell exited early from Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Kings due to an apparent upper-body injury.
While reaching for the puck along the boards in the third period, Blackwell took a hit from Kevin Fiala and fell to the ice in pain. Upon skating off the ice, Blackwell appeared to favor his right shoulder, which absorbed the initial blow of Fiala's hit.

It's a tough break for Blackwell, who had a delayed start to the season while recovering from sports hernia surgery. The veteran has 12 points (eight goals, four assists) in 39 games since debuting in December.
The extent of Blackwell's injury is unknown as of this writing. Check back for updates as they become available.
Richardson didn’t have an update on Blackwell’s status yet
