Nick Leddy and Patrick Kane each had a goal and two assists as eight Blackhawks scored two or more points and Chicago boosted its road record to 12-1-2 with a dominant win on the second stop of a four-game road trip. Patrick Kane Spin-O-Rama: Goal Of The Year?

If you missed the Chicago Blackhawks play the Dallas Stars on Saturday night, then you missed an 8-1-blowout victory for Chicago, and one of the prettiest goals you will ever see in hockey. Patrick Kane has undoubtedly been the Blackhawks MVP this year, leading his team (and most of the league) in points, and pulling ridiculous moves like this Spin-O-Rama backhander. Filthy. Just...

Blackhawks Do Dallas, Win 8-1

The final score was 8-1, but the game wasn’t as close as the score would indicate. Five different Blackhawks had three points in the blowout: Bryan Bickell: 3 assists Viktor Stalberg: 3 assists Nick Leddy: 1 goal, 2 assists Patrick … Continue reading →The post Blackhawks Do Dallas, Win 8-1 appeared first on Committed Indians.

Patrick Kane is Poetry in Motion

Hockey is known by the fair weather fan for being a sport that is tough as nails and doesn't really care if the game stops so a pair of guys can fight while balancing on sharp blades. Maybe if those fans saw more of the grace and beauty of the game they would tune in for more than the fights (which they can just catch on Sportscenter or YouTube). Like this play by Chicago...

Patrick Kane scores sick 360-backhand goal

Already leading 7-1 on the Dallas Stars, Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane decided to put on a show.  Coming down on a two-on-two he didn’t have much to do other than exactly what he did.  He skated towards the middle of the ice acting like he was going to cut across the tops of the circles, then threw on the breaks and busted out a spin move and then fired the puck short...

Patrick Kane scores incredible back-handed 360 goal (Video)

Last night, the Chicago Blackhawks trounced the Dallas Stars by a score of 8-1 and Chicago star Patrick Kane put together one of the best goal of this shortened NHL season. In the third period of play, Kane gained control of the puck and put together an impressive spin-o-rama backhanded goal for his 15th score of the season:

AHL Brawl carries on into the benches

The Rockford Ice Hogs and the Chicago Wolves got into it pretty intensely on Sunday night very late in the third period.  The Ice Hogs had a powerplay with 12.9 seconds left and with a 2-1 lead they were intent on letting the clock run out. Ice Hogs forward Ben Smith was then hit through a door that wasn’t closed all the way by Guillaume Desbiens as they were taking the puck up...

Time For Changes In Dallas?

from Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News, Could the Stars resort to personnel changes after an 8-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks Saturday _ the worst loss the team has suffered at American Airlines Center? Well, it seems at the very least we should be on alert. After all, owner Tom Gaglardi was in the building. He brought his family down for the game from Vancouver and...

John Jaeckel: Globetrotters 8, Generals 1

Follow me @jaeckel When the Blackhawks lost two games in a row recently, the question naturally arose: is this a temporary blip or are they going to be merely mortal from here on out? If last night's game, their second win in two games on the road, is any indication, the answer is: blip. And last night against Dallas, they looked as good or better than they have all year...

Best Defensive Forward

In mid-February I picked Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks as the Selke Trophy leader.  While he remains a strong candidate, I think there is a stronger Selke Trophy leader right now in Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins.  Bergeron has a stronger +/- (adjusted or raw) while playing against a similar quality of competition with more penalty killing time.  Bergeron leads...

Blackhawks-Stars Preview

With their brief skid in the past, the Chicago Blackhawks are poised to begin another winning streak. After bouncing back from two straight defeats to win the opener of a four-game trip, the Blackhawks look to hand the Dallas Stars a fourth consecutive loss Saturday night. Chicago (22-2-3) didn't seem too concerned while dropping two in a row following its NHL-record 24-game...

John Jaeckel: Colorado Preview; Minor Hawks/Leafs Deal?

Follow me @jaeckel Chicago Blackhawks @ Colorado Avalanche 8:00PM Central/7 Mountain CSN Chicago, Altitude Sports2/WGN Radio THE BUZZ After breaking the Blackhawks' season opening points streak, the youthful Avs went on to lose 3 of their next 4. The Hawks appear to be back on a role, even without top winger Patrick Sharp, destroying Dallas 8-1 Saturday night...

Blackhawks-Avalanche Preview

Earlier this month, the Colorado Avalanche ended the Chicago Blackhawks' historic season-opening run. While the Blackhawks have bounced back from a brief slide started by that setback, the Avalanche have failed to completely build on the victory from the last meeting. Trying for a third consecutive win, the Blackhawks look to avenge their first regulation loss of 2013 and end...

TWICH: North Dakota Senior Tate Maris Waited 4 Years To Play 4 Minutes

North Dakota is a college hockey powerhouse. The school has produced some great players in the NHL, including Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews and St. Louis Blues forward T.J. Oshie. But it’s a backup goalie who made headlines this past weekend. Tate Maris is a senior goaltender who has been suiting up for the past four years. His Twitter bio jokingly reads “Goalie and...
