As the Chicago Blackhawks and their fans continue to share in the excitement of Patrick Sharp‘s five-year contract extension, Stan Bowman and the rest of the front office will officially introduce two of their free agent signings from a busy summer, Andrew Brunette and Daniel Carcillo.
Both forwards were signed on the first day of free agency, and the reception for each of them could not have been more different. While Brunette has a reputation as an exception teammate, Carcillo is one of the most noted goons in the NHL today.
Brunette signed a one-year deal with the Hawks for what could possibly be his last chance at a Stanley Cup run. At 37, Brunette brings experience and solid chemistry to the Blackhawks. With the departure of Troy Brouwer, Brunette is likely to post up in front of the net for the forward lines, and should easily line up at left wing for one of the two top lines.
