Add Igor Makarov to the mix of young Blackhawks prospects who likely will be vying for a roster spot when training camp opens in September.
The 22-year-old right winger, who played last season in the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia, signed a two-year contract with the Hawks on Tuesday.
Makarov had five goals, four assists and 61 penalty minutes in 51 regular-season games with Moscow Dynamo and St. Petersburg SKA of the KHL. The Moscow, Russia, native has 14 goals and 12 assists in 93 games in the last two seasons in the KHL.
Makarov was the Hawks' second selection (33rd overall) in the 2006 entry draft.
