Sources tell TSN the NHL and the NHLPA are investigating what might have been an enormous mistake by the Chicago Blackhawks.Chicago tendered qualifying offers to several key players this week, including Kris Versteeg, Cam Barker, Ben Eager, Colin Fraser, Aaron Johnson and Troy Brouwer, however the investigation underway is to determine whether the qualifying offers were filed correctly. If not, there is the remote possibility the qualifying offers could be ruled invalid and the players listed above, conceivably, could be deemed unrestricted free agents because of the blunder. There are few details, but one source says the players involved didn't receive the necessary notification of the offers. The National Hockey League is in the process of trying to determine whether the situation was remedied in time.Chicago general manager Dale Tallon says the qualifying offers were mailed to the players in time, on June 29th, but says because of the July 1 holiday, some of the players didn'...

  • Hossa couldnot get the Cup in Detriot because the Red Wings already won the Year before!!

No one wanted Detriot to repeat and they won't next season!

The Red Wings are all overpaid tallent and the Salery Cap is hitting their tema just liek the Penguins are getting it now!!

Can't wait till we see other tema have the chance to get the cup besides the Dead Wings and Shittsburgh!!
  • The Wings are always at the Cap but continually maintain the ability to keep key players and offer them long term contracts. The fact that they can annually compete for the division and conference championships every year is a credit to the talent that they keep.

Look for the Blackhawks to be strong and the Ducks to make a good push but the Central division is still the one to beat. The Wings, Blues (who made some good moves), Blue Jackets, and the 'Hawks will be hard to beat next year.

And know your history. 4 Cups in the last 12 years? Hardly a repeat of the "Dead Wings" era.
  • Yea your right but!!

Ducks losing Chris Pronger may hurt them a little but not alot because scott niedermayer and Rob niedermayer they still have and temau selanie is still bad ass!!

And chris Kuntiz is gone to the Pens!!

But the sharks are still the team to beet and maby possible look for a push for the stars!!

The Dallas Stars i think will get better and have good tallent on their team!!

But Detroit may have some competition in their division!!

  • Well, the Pacific division is strong but, as you pointed out, Pronger leaving is probably the biggest thing to note. The Sharks are always picked to win the division and, as we saw last year, they have the great potential. They're problem is that they do not ever make it far enough in the playoffs. They need to rise to the occasion; in years previous, they've shrunk. If they can get past the first round in 6 games or less, they'll do well. McLellan can do great things there.

I take it you're a Pacific division fan? Good stuff happening, there. The Ducks gave the Wings one hell of a series, though. The Sharks are always fun to play and I'm anxious to see what the Stars can do this year.
  • Yea i been a Dallas Stars Fan all my enitire life!

Living in Dallas we also got my Cowboys which we got alot of Haters too always!

But yea the Stars are always my number 1# Hockey team win or lose!!

Been to the live games and love them!!

Worked the All Star Game when it was here in Dallas !!

But yea i think the sharks are kinda the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL!

Make it to the Western Conference Finals and basically lose in the Conference Finals like the Eagles lose in the NFC Championship game!!

Stars have at least done great things but i think now Dave Tippit gone we can start over and rebuild and Bret Hull and Joe Newendyke i think will change up our team and make them strong !!

But honest Turco is our main troubles !! He cannot stay good and folds in big games!!
  • I was born in East Texas so I don't have any problem with the Cowboys. The Stars, however, are a different story for me. (http://willfulcaboose.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/hull.jpg). Wrong. Simply wrong.

I give the Stars another 2 seasons before they're competing again. Modano will be gone soon so that'll suck. And, as you pointed out, Turco is the biggest problem you have right now. I would've made some deadline deals for a better #1 or backup goalie.

With Tippit gone, things are going to look up. It may take a while but the new guy will get there!
  • Yeap your right man!!

Modano i think also is going to hang the skates and stick up and retire soon!!

Turco may as well be out of Dallas!! They need to get a good backup golie or train and find a new bad ass unstopable goaltender.
  • Depending on what happens in Anaheim, they may be able to make an offer to Giguere. With Hiller now the presumptive #1 for the Ducks, that could be a great acquisition.

Looking forward to another great season though. I'm dying without my hockey.
  • Me 2 man!! I wana go to more games this upcoming season!!

But hopefully we can get someone besides Turco!!

But honest Dallas had some great backup they let go!!

    Manny Fernandeaz,Johan Hedberg,Mike Smith,Dan Ellis,others too!!
