The Boston Bruins have pushed back the start of Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning by six hours because of the blizzard hitting the Northeast. The game scheduled for 1 p.m. is now to start at 7 p.m. The Bruins and Lightning each already had road games scheduled for Sunday night. Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick declared a state of emergency and banned travel on roads as of 4 p.m. on Friday in anticipation of a blizzard that could bring nearly a yard of snow to the region. Public transportation also shut down Friday afternoon. The storm was expected to clear the area by early Saturday afternoon.

Coming into this season, some fans might have worried about Tuukka Rask taking over the reins as the Bruins’ starting goaltender. It appears that those worries were unwarranted. Bruins’ Snow Day Against Lightning Joins New Jersey’s Fabled ’334′ Game in NHL Lore (Video)

The Bruins tried to play on Saturday despite some snowy conditions in Boston, but ultimately the NHL decided to postpone the game. While it might be difficult for the B’s to find a date to play the Lightning again, that trouble pales in comparison to the fate that befell several New Jersey Devils players back in 1987. As NESN’s Andy Brickley remembers it, New Jersey had a devil...

Tim Thomas Trade

It's usually a big deal when a future Hall of Famer gets traded.  If Tim Thomas returns to the NHL and he is motivated to play at a high level today's trade could be a big deal someday.  Right now it is a trade that has been made for bookkeeping reasons and to allow teams to try to circumvent their CBA responsibilities. Tim Thomas has been traded from the Boston Bruins...

Grindin' Gears: Where The Power Play Does Unspeakable Things To Us

I have had enough of watching this ******* Bruins power play. You know, if this was something new to the season, I'd be able to handle something as vile as the Bruins going on a 5-on-4 and not being able to enter the zone, but we're looking at a deficient power play for the past three season. Three-*******-season of a power play that has looked lost, sloppy and uncoordinated...
