(TAMPA, Fla.) The second annual Blue-Grey National All-Star Classic is set to kick off on Saturday, January 12, at 8 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium. The game will feature some of the best high school football players from across the country and be carried by FOX Sports Florida, which will stream the game live on FOXSportsFlorida.com viaPrep Zone. We are excited to be back in Florida and are looking forward to a great ball game, Blue-Grey Director Gus Bell said. Because of last years exposure, many of our uncommitted prospects were flooded with phone calls from college coaches. The talent this year is even better than last years as our All-Star game grows each year. The South squad features players form Florida, Texas, Missouri, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana and Oklahoma. Headlining the South team is Texas quarterback Mike Richardson and Florida defensive end Wade Forde Jr. Richardson (6-foot-1, 195-pounds) will make the trip to Tampa from Marble Falls, TX. He holds the states single-game record with 772 passing yards and seven touchdowns. Forde Jr. is a quick and athletic edge rusher from Vanguard High School in Ocala, Fla. At 6-foot-4, 230-pounds Forde Jr. totaled 64 tackles and led his team with 9.5 sacks. Local fans will be able to watch area stars such as Alonso quarterback Brandon Hawkins and Sarasota quarterback Hunter Dewitt. Hawkins passed for nearly 1,700 yards, completing 55 percent of his passes as a senior. Dewitt fought adversity this season and passed for more than 2,800 yards while battling injuries that caused him to miss four games this season. The North team features players from California, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, New England, New York, Illinois, Delaware, Utah, Massachusetts and even players from Canada. Headlining the North squad is quarterback Micheal Knevel, wide receiver Jeff Richardson and running back Winston Lee. Knevel, who is one of two players from Canada, stands 6-foot-4, 205-pounds is an accurate passer with a big arm. Knevel will look to stretch the field on Saturday night and Richardson may be his top target. Richardson, an Ohio-native, is a speedster with a 4.3-second 40-yard dash. He holds the state record in Ohio with 56 career touchdowns. Joining Richardson on the North team with 4.3-second 40-yard dash speed is Lee. Lee is from New York and competed in the Blue-Grey combine in Massachusetts where he earned an invitation to the Blue-Grey National All-Star Classic. At the combine, Lee recorded an 11-foot, 6-inch broad jump which broke the record of 11-foot, 4-inches set by current Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III. People who attend the game will enjoy an interactive, on-site element that enhances the fan experience for those in attendance. Fans watching at home on FOXSportsFlorida.com will have access to a library of instant video highlights that will allow fans to share clips with family and friends via Facebook and Twitter within seconds. Tickets can be purchased the day of the game at the Raymond James Stadium box office. Additional details can be found at www.FOXSportsFlorida.com.
