Columbus Blue Jackets center Jeff Carter isn't thrilled that his new team is struggling, but denied asking for a trade.
"I haven't talked with one single person from RDS (the Canadian media outlet that made the initial report," Carter told the Columbus Dispatch. "I don't know where they came up with that. I haven't said anything or asked for anything."
The former All-Star was acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers for the eighth overall pick in the draft and forward Jakub Voracek.
Carter, 26, netted his first goal of the season on Saturday and has collected three assists and six penalty minutes in 2011-12.
Last season, Carter recorded 36 goals, 30 assists and 39 penalty minutes in 80 games.
