Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Radek Martinek will miss the remainder of the season with post-concussion symptoms, the team announced on Thursday.
To fill his roster spot, the Blue Jackets signed defenseman Brett Lebda to a contract.
Lebda has collected 19 goals and 53 assists in 367 career NHL games with the Detroit Red Wings and Toronto Maple Leafs. The 30-year-old Lebda played with Springfield of the American Hockey League this season.
Martinek netted one goal in seven games this season before suffering a concussion against Detroit on Oct. 21.
