ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Blues assigned 29-year-old forward Chris Porter to the Chicago Wolves -- the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate -- on Sunday.
Porter (6 feet 1, 209 pounds) posted eight points (two goals and six assists) in 29 games last season. In four NHL seasons, all with the Blues, Porter has recorded 24 points (10 goals, 14 assists) and 27 penalty minutes in 127 career games.
Porter was signed by the Blues as a free agent on Aug. 21, 2007.

It looks like Chris Porter is the odd man out for the St. Louis Blues. The team placed Porter on waivers Saturday, signaling that the battle for the fourth line has been decided. Assuming he clears waivers, Porter will report to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
