(AP) -- The Phoenix Coyotes got a road-heavy portion of their schedule off to a great start. They'd like to begin producing similar results at home. Phoenix will try to match a season high with its third consecutive win Friday night, hosting a St. Louis Blues team looking to rebound from a rare regulation loss. Opening a stretch in which they play 10 of 13 outside the desert, the Coyotes (18-13-3) followed Tuesday's 2-1 win over Florida with a 4-3 victory at Carolina on Wednesday. Cal O'Reilly, Rostislav Klesla and Lauri Korpikoski scored after Phoenix went down 3-1 in the second period. "We had the mindset that if we would come out and play well then we could get the four points," coach Dave Tippett said. "Even though we didn't play as well as we liked all the time, we still got the four points and that's a good sign." What isn't a good sign is the Coyotes having only seven home wins, tied for second-fewest among Western Conference t...

Coyotes goalie Mike Smith day-to-day with groin injury

Notes: It doesn't surprise anyone in hockey that violent collisions can lead to nasty injuries. The freakish injuries are the ones that are puzzling, and Coyotes goaltender Mike Smith falls into that latter category.

Video- Keith Tkachuk Inducted Into The Coyotes Ring Of Honor

from Jerry Brown at NHL.com, Shane Doan has been captain of the Phoenix Coyotes for eight years, longer than anyone in franchise history. But ask him about “Captain Coyote,” and Doan will start talking about Keith Tkachuk. Mark Messier, Steve Yzerman, Ray Bourque and Bobby Clarke are on the short list of the NHL’s most revered captains, but no one enjoyed wearing the “C”...

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Phoenix Coyotes 11/21/11 Scoring Chances

There will be games where the team does most things right and plays well enough to win but comes out on the short end due to a few things going awry. Last night's 4-3 loss against the Coyotes was one of those games for the Hurricanes and it's very disappointing because this was one of their better efforts of the season. They had the powerplay going, held the Coyotes to less...

Bittersweet Symphony

The night the Coyotes retired Keith "Walt" Tkachuk was bittersweet. There was a touching Ring of Honor ceremony, the cutest Coyote Santa hat giveaway but we lost. The pictures are a bit dark. I tried it without the flash (works best with eliminating glass reflection) but it was too low light in the arena. I had to turn the flash on to get less blurry images. Note to BF...
