The Blues are seeking that player even after the re-signing of Jackman to a three-year extension. His return gives the team six defensemen under contract, including Pietrangelo, Kevin Shattenkirk, Roman Polak, Kris Russell and Ian Cole.
Carlo Colaiacovo, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent July 1, was Pietrangelo’s partner last season, so the righthanded Pietrangelo could have a new running mate, and not necessarily one who plays on the left side.
