The Law of Hildy; or, why I feel a little guilty about the Blues' success

One of my friends and another former Thrashers compatriot shot me a tweet last night that kind of highlighted an idea that'd been mulling around in my head for a bit: "I suppose this season is a perfect example of the Law of Hildy. Blues on their way to most points and we don't have a team at all."For those of you unfamiliar with the Law of Hildy, it stated that...

As the 2011-12 NHL regular season winds down, people have begun to talk, as they always do, about the awards race and which player on their favorite team deserves this, that, or the other award.  It’s great fun. One of those awards, as we all know, is the Norris Trophy, which is given to the [...]

Damn straight ‘It Happened on Hockey Night’: Re-living Yzerman’s goal against the Blues in 1996

The Red Wings didn’t win the Stanley Cup during the spring of 1996, but their playoff runs to the Cup Finals in 95 and their three-round run into the brick wall that was the Colorado Avalanche after they’d defeated the St. Louis Blues gave the Wings both the resolve, determination, playoff experience and especially the personnel changes necessary to capture the Cup in 1997, and...

Carolina Hurricanes vs. St. Louis Blues 03/15/12 Scoring Chances
