The Montreal Canadiens added a little more stability in goal heading into the 2020-21 campaign.
Montreal announced Wednesday that the club acquired goaltender Jake Allen and a 2022 seventh-round pick from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for third- and seventh-round picks in this year's draft.

Allen likely will serve as the backup to Carey Price after spending seven seasons in St. Louis.
In the playoffs this season, Allen heavily outplayed Blues starting goaltender Jordan Binnington, earning a 2-1-1 record with a 1.89 goals-against average and .935 save percentage. In his career, Allen is 148-94-26 with a 2.50 GAA and .913 save percentage.
Allen has one year remaining on his four-year, $17.4 million deal.
