Tampa Bay Lightning starting goaltender Ben Bishop is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, the team announced Friday. The Lightning recalledgoaltender Kristers Gudlevskis from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL as a precautionary measure. Tampa Bay is expected to make another roster move in the near future, summoning a netminder from the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League to serve as a backup to Anders Lindback. Bishop has started in three of Tampa Bay's four games this season, posting a 3-0 record, 1.93 goals-against average and .928 save percentage. He played the full 60 minutes in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Florida Panthers and showed no signs of injury during post-game interviews. The Lightning return to action Saturday night when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins. Tampa Bay's fifth-round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Gudlevskis had been participating in Everblades training camp about two hours south in Estero, Fla. The Latvian netminder appeared in one preseason game for the Lightning, recording a 1.76 goals-against average and .929 save percentage in 34 minutes of action. Prior to being drafted by the Lightning, Gudlevskis appeared in 145 career games with HC Riga of the Minor Hockey League, the junior branch of Europe's Kontinental Hockey League.
