Found October 31, 2013 on Fox Sports Florida:
Steven Stamkos is one of the most the league's most dangerous goal scorers. When it comes to the shootout, though, not so much. That may be changing. Stamkos scored the sixth shootout goal of his career on Oct. 27 in a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers. He did so in highlight-reel fashion, with several dekes to freeze Florida's Jacob Markstrom before easily shifting the puck into a relatively open net. The goal gave Tampa Bay the victory and floored coach Jon Cooper in the process. "That was quite a move. Wow," Cooper said. "When I was growing up, I just don't remember those moves. Where do they come from?" For a player whose shootout moves in the Ontario Hockey League became a YouTube sensation, it is hard to fathom the former 60-goal scorer is notoriously bad in one-on-one sessions. Stamkos is now just 6-for-28 all-time in the shootout and 1-for-3 on penalty shots. But Cooper seems to have figured out how to get one of the league's mo...

Preview: Blues ride three-game winning streak into Tampa Bay

Steven Stamkos always finds himself among the NHL's scoring leaders, while Alexander Steen's inclusion has been very unexpected. Steen looks to continue his incredible start to the season by helping the St. Louis Blues to a fourth straight victory against Stamkos and the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night. Stamkos has led the league in goals twice over the past four...

WATCH: Lightning defenseman scores on bank-shot goal

A rising trend in the NHL has been for defenseman to shoot wide on purpose to create a rebound with the puck in front of the net.  This is exactly what Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman was trying to do when the puck ended up going into the Carolina Hurricanes net.  This is definitely the first time that I’ve ever seen something like this and I know Hedman never imagined...

Stamkos, Bishop lead Bolts past Carolina

The Tampa Bay Lightning needed a jump start to get going on Friday and Steven Stamkos provided the boost. Stamkos picked up his 10th goal of the season among his season-high nine shots on goal as Tampa picked up a 3-0 win against Carolina in front of an announced crowd of 14,828 at PNC Arena. Victor Hedman and Alex Killorn also scored for the Lightning, which improved to 9-4 on...

Lightning-Hurricanes Preview

While Steven Stamkos added to his scoring binge last time out, the Tampa Bay Lightning couldn't generate enough offense to keep their winning streak going. Stamkos and the Lightning haven't had much trouble scoring in recent visits to Raleigh. Tampa Bay will try to get started on another win streak by taking advantage of the short-handed Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night...

Lightning's Gudas loses misconduct

Radko Gudas gets several benefits from having the league rescind Sunday's game misconduct. The Lightning defenseman saves the automatic $200 fine and, as Gudas said, "I'm just glad it comes off my record," because players with three game misconducts in a season are suspended for one game. But is Gudas now marked as a player who can be goaded into bad penalties...

Bishop (8-2) stopped 31 shots in his first shutout of the season and second of his career against Carolina. Alex Killorn added a goal and an assist, and Martin St. Louis had...

Bishop, Bolts blank Hurricanes

The Tampa Bay Lightning had a very good October. November is now off to a good start, too. Victor Hedman scored a fortunate goal, and Ben Bishop did the rest with a 31-save effort in the Lightning's 3-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night. Hedman fired a drive that ricocheted off the end boards and the left post before hitting goalie Justin Peters twice and drifting...
