TAMPA – After weeks of speculation and over a month of discussions, it was a tick-up in Tampa Bay's offer that finally put Alex Tanguay's autograph on a contract with the Lightning.
The 29-year-old Tanguay was the top free agent remaining on the market. And to ensure the Lightning landed him, general manager Brian Lawton upped the team's offer to a number Tanguay felt comfortable with, a salary believed to be worth $2.5 million on a one-year deal.
