WEDNESDAY'S STORY LINE: Yesterday Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced Pierre-Marc Bouchard will be out indefinitely with concussion symptoms. This morning, Bouchard himself spoke. Bouchard reiterated the hit by Zack Bogosian on December 13th was the start of his problems. After the hit, he took a week off and missed two games but came back because he felt "decent enough to play." That was until last Wednesday in Vancouver; Bouchard took an accidental elbow at the end of the game. The next morning he woke up and didn't feel right. Having been through this all before, Bouchard knows his body well. His symptoms right now are mostly "headaches and pressure." The symptoms are not as severe as the concussion that kept him out over a hundred games the past two seasons. "I am trying to be positive here, there are symptoms that I had with the last one that I don't have right now, so I guess it could be a good sign," said Bouchard. "My first concussion, pretty much everything used to bother me; driving, watching tv and that kind of stuff. I am able to do that stuff right now," added Bouchard. Bouchard isn't working out right now and there is no timetable for his return, he can only rest and wait. He won't start working out again till he is 100 "symptom free." Bouchard said he is "positive he can come back." Concussions have become an epidemic in the NHL and player safety has become a huge concern. The league has been cracking down on cheap shots to the head, but Bouchard feels at the end of the day it is the player's responsibility to make the ice a safer place. There has to be more "respect," added Bouchard. "I think the league is trying hard right now to be strict about it. We see bigger suspensions, but at the end of the day it is on the players" said Bouchard. "I mean there are some accidents out there that are going to happen but there are some cheap shots and headshots, and players have to be smarter." HE SAID IT: "I apologized to the guys, but there is no excuse for being late to a meeting. We have one job and that is to come to the rink. I got penalized for that, now I got to try and get back here and get ready to go againYou never want it to happen to you, but you have to be accountable especially when things aren't going right. It is unacceptable and inexcusable." Devin Setoguchi on missing the team meeting on Tuesday morning
