At first glance, you may not think a rookie forward with four points in 12 games would be overly effective in his first month of NHL action. But when it comes to Gabriel Bourque, stats don’t matter as much as the little things he brings to the lineup on a nightly basis. Alongside Nick Spaling and Jordin Tootoo on the team’s energy line, Bourque has found a home with the Predators.Bourque has enjoyed his time in Nashville thus far and believes he has jelled in Trotz’s system.“You can’t take a day off here,” he said. “For me it’s do or die, so I try to do the best I can every day.”When Bourque was initially called up, head coach Barry Trotz praised his compete level and tenacity around the puck.
