NY Rangers Blog:
Yesterday at practice in Florida, Andrew Gross at the Bergen Record observed that Brian Boyle (right knee) appeared to still be limping and it looked like he was still wearing a brace under his suit pants.
John Tortorella said there were no updates on Boyle, who remains out indefinitely.
...if Boyle is still limping around I find it hard to believe that he'll be back before the end of the regular season. And that might not be a bad thing, as without Boyle in the line-up this season the Rangers are 6-1-0 while outscoring their opponents 33-14.

This is not how the Rangers have successfully developed prospects in recent years
The Rangers’ recent success has made Chris Kreider a forgotten man, but the handling of Kreider has been the most disappointing aspect of the 2013 season.
You can’t blame the 21-year-old for hitting a bump in the road, but the organization’s treatment of its prized winger has been a mess since...
Pat Leonard at the Daily News reports that Henrik Lundqvist will make his 12th straight start tomorrow in Florida against the last place Panthers.
...i don't care if the Panthers are the worst team in the Eastern Conference, the Rangers are hanging on to a playoff spot by the skin of their teeth and I, for one, couldn't be happier to see Lundqvist back in there tomorrow...
Still control their own fate.
The Rangers lost last night. It happens. They dominated the game, but still fell short to an inferior team. It happens. The Blackhawks had their record streak broken by the 29th best team in the league this season. The Rangers lost to the worst team in the league. A team that has still won 13 games this season. It happens.
What is more important is...
- Since the trade deadline, Derick Brassard has three goals in six assists in 10 games and Marian Gaborik has three goals and four assists in 10 games.
- The Rangers are 7-2-1 since the trade deadline. (Via @Herman_NYRBlog)
- The Rangers are 8-36 (22.2%) on the power play since the trade deadline and were converting at a 14.3% rate before it.
- Brad Richards has four goals and...
Yesterday, I posted that with the Whale season ending without a playoff birth, the Rangers will, similar to last season, be recalling some prospects as taxi squad players for the final week and into the playoffs.
Brett Cyrgalis at the New Yor Post says the likely players recalled include J.T. Miller, Brandon Segal, Brandon Mashinter, Benn Ferriero, Dylan McIlrath and Mike Vernace...
For the second straight year, EA Sports is holding a fan vote to determine the cover of NHL14.
And for the Rangers the two representatives are Ryan Callahan and........Carl Hagelin? Huh?
Listen, I love Hagelin, but how in the heck is he in the running over guys like Rick Nash, Henrik Lundqvist and Derek Stepan?
And actually, if you look at most of the teams' representatives...
A bit of deja vu tonight. Markstrom stood strong and the Panthers held on long enough to get their two necessary goals. Give credit to them for doing what they had to.
Nonetheless, frustrating result for the Rangers. With the Jets losing in regulation, the Rangers had the ability to clinch a playoff spot. And with the Islanders losing in overtime, they had the ability to move...
Jason Szenes for The New York Times
The Rangers are in Miami tonight to take on the Panthers, and can clinch a spot in the playoffs in the process. If the Rangers win tonight and the Jets lose in regulation to Washington, then the Rangers clinch at least the eighth seed. If the Rangers win tonight and the Islanders lose to Carolina, then the Rangers jump to the sixth seed, one point...
That is what New York Rangers' fans must be wondering after watching their favorite team lost to the Florida Panthers by a score of 3-2.
After scoring 18 goals in three games, the Rangers' offense came up one short tonight in Florida. Panthers' goaltender Jacob Markstrom was solid in making 36 saves and him and the rest of his team was able to survive a late Rangers...
With Winnipeg losing tonight in regulation to the Capitals, the Rangers had a chance to clinch tonight. Unfortunately, the Rangers just couldn’t cash it in despite dominating puck possession (+25 team corsi), out hitting the Panthers and forcing more turnovers.
The Rangers have 52 points with two games left to garner the 2 points needed to solidify a playoff spot. Winterpeg has...
The New York Rangers failed to clinch a playoff birth with a 3-2 loss to the Florida Panthers last night. With Winnipeg losing to the Capitals in regulation yesterday, the Rangers can make the playoffs with 2 points in any … Continue reading →
Jared Staal, the youngest of the brothers Staal, was recalled by the Canes and will join his brothers in Raleigh (nhl.si.com)
For the first time in their son’s NHL careers, Harry and Linda Staal will not have to be in two arenas at one time cheering for three different children. The Carolina Hurricanes have called up the youngest member of the Staal Clan, Jared, from the Charlotte...
The Rangers continued their playoff push, looking for their fourth straight win, in the Sunshine State taking on the league worst Florida Panthers, the same team they walloped 6-1 at Madison Square Garden last Thursday. A win and a Winnipeg Jets loss in regulation at Washington would clinch a playoff berth for the Blueshirts. Despite [...]

After failing to secure a playoff berth in their last opportunity, the New York Rangers don't want to waste another chance against one of the league's worst teams - and one they've dominated recently.
New York will try again to clinch a third straight postseason appearance Thursday night in Raleigh by claiming its eighth consecutive victory over the Carolina Hurricanes...
