We’re nearly two weeks into August, which means the hockey season is right around the corner. To help you get your fix, we’re going to take a look at the Flyers roster, player-by-player, as it stands now.   First, we’ll take a look at some of the newest additions to the orange and black.  In this edition of “Breaking Down the Philadelphia Flyers,” we’ll take a look at Jakub Voracek. Acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets along with the 8th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft (Sean Couturier) in return for Jeff Carter, Voracek joins the Flyers as a bit of a reclamation project. Drafted with the 7th overall pick in 2007, Voracek steadily improved in Columbus but not with the consistency the Blue Jackets had hoped for. In his 3 seasons in the NHL Voracek has hovered around the 15 goals-30 assist area. Playing with the likes of Derrick Brassard and Rick Nash in Columbus, Voracek was expected to thrive.
