On Saturday, Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos tweeted that Nashville had placed defenseman Brett Lebda on waivers, likely with the purpose of buying him out. Today the news came from USA Today’s Kevin Allen that Lebda, who was acquired from Toronto last month, had indeed cleared waivers.Will the Preds be able to buy out the last year of Lebda’s contract? As Dirk Hoag points out via the CBA, that time apparently has passed since Shea Weber was the only player in arbitration.
