Some surprising news came our way Saturday afternoon when it was learned that the Bruins were very active in trying to trade into the first round of the upcoming draft, and that Tyler Seguin may be one of the players being shopped to do so. Bruins are really active right now. Tyler Seguin is one of the players that could be traded. Lightning is one of many teams in the mix. — Renaud Lavoie (@RenLavoieRDS) June 29, 2013 Not 100 per cent yet but looks like Nathan Horton will NOT be back with BOS. B’s talking trade and Tyler Seguin’s name has been discussed. — Bob McKenzie (@TSNBobMcKenzie) June 29, 2013 The 2013 NHL Draft class is expected to be one of the deepest in recent memory, so that could explain why the Bruins are so determined to land a first-round pick. Shopping Seguin, a 21-year old budding star, means that the Bruins and GM Peter Chiarelli likely want to get to the front of the draft (possibly Top 10 or Top 5). Seguin, the 2nd overall pick by the Bruins in the 2010 draft, would likely command a king’s ransom if he were to be dealt. Chiarelli has a pretty good track record of getting a lot of value out player transactions so it will be intriguing to see what he is seeking in return for the young forward. Don’t be surprised if Chiarelli also shops the rights to Andrew Ference, who has an expiring contract and won’t be back with Boston next season. It’s an interesting development, certainly one to keep an eye on over the next few days until the NHL Draft. • Don't be stupid!! He is great and only 21! The grass is always greener. We have yet to see his full potential!
  • If Seguin was such an impact player he would have showed us Bruins fans his talent in the recent Stanley Cup series. He was a flame out in the playoffs. Played soft and most of his shots were either over the net or off the mark. He is the current Joe Thorton of the Bruins. Time for the Bruins to bring in more qualified players who can perform well under pressure and bring home another Cup to Boston.
  • @TheKingsMusic- apparently you forget how clutch he was last year when bergeron missed the Eastern Conference Finals against Tampa.. You cant expect to win the cup every sigle year, be realistic.
