As the Washington Capitals and the Northeast Division Champion Boston Bruins are gearing up to face each other in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals this Thursday (April 12th), let's take a look back at the regular season series between the two teams.

January 24 in Washington:  5-3 Win
Goalies:  Tomas Vokoun vs. Tuukka Rask
Caps PP:  0/1, Caps PK:  1/2
Shots For: 23, Shots Against: 32
Game-Winning Goal:  Mathieu Perreault
Notes:  For the Caps, Mathieu Perreault recorded his first career hat trick, Roman Hamrlik had 2 assists, and Dennis Wideman scored an empty-net goal.  Patrice Bergeron and Dennis Seidenberg each had 2 assists for Boston.  Caps winger Jason Chimera and Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid were given coincidental roughing minors in the second period. Zdeno Chara also received a roughing penalty on the same play to give the Caps their only power play of the game. 

February 5 in Washington:  1-4 Loss
Goalies:  Tomas Vokoun vs. Tim Thomas

Shots For: 36, Shots Against: 30
Game-Winning Goal:  Brad Marchand
Notes:  Marcus Johansson had the Capitals' lone goal.  For Boston, Brad Marchand had a goal and an assist, Rich Peverley had an empty-net goal and an assist, and Patrice Bergeron had 2 assists.  Capitals forward Matt Hendricks fought Adam McQuaid.  Jason Chimera had a goalie interference penalty.

March 10 in Boston:  4-3 Win

Game-Winning Goal: Brooks Laich
Notes:  For the Capitals, Alexander Semin had a goal and an assist and Dmitry Orlov had 2 assists.  For the Bruins, Milan Lucic had a goal and a roughing penalty in a dust-up with Karl Alzner. 

March 29 in Boston: 3-2 Shootout Win
Goalies: Tomas Vokoun and Michal Neuvirth vs. Tim Thomas

Game-Deciding Shootout Goal:  Brooks Laich
Notes:  In the first period, Jason Chimera was ejected for charging and injuring Adam McQuaid.  In the third period, the Caps went up 2-0 with Marcus Johansson scoring a goal and an assist and Alex Ovechkin posting 2 assists.  The Caps blew the lead when David Krejci put up a goal and an assist in the last 3:10 of the game.
