BOSTON — Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask stood in front of his stall in the locker room Thursday night and said what was probably on the minds of all the Bruins after their 3-2 shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues. Rask said something in Finnish, presumably a word not suitable for printing here before finally getting to the heart of the matter. “I mean, it sucks. It just sucks.” Such is life in the NHL when you come up on the short end of the stick in the shootout. The Bruins gave arguably their best 60-minute effort of the season on Thursday against one of the league’s best teams. They then turned in another solid five minutes of 4-on-4 overtime. Playing with a host of young defensemen — with two injured veterans watching from the press box — the B’s gave the Blues all they could ask for … only to see it turn into a loss into the shootout. Boston will certainly take the point, a hard-earned one at that, but that alone won’t ease immediate the sting any. It’s almost ironic for a team like...

Cam Neely will not reprise his role of Seabass in Dumb & Dumber To

After it was reported earlier this year that a sequel to 1993′s cult classic Dumb & Dumber had finally been greenlit, many wondered which of the original film’s characters would return for Dumb & Dumber To. Although several reports stated that former NHLer and current Boston Bruins team president Cam Neely would be returning to reprise his role as tough guy Seabass...

Tuukka Rask Does Not Like His Tools

And, as we all know, a good craftsman never blames them when it goes wrong...They just get destroyed...Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask has done it before and he did it again last night after losing in a shootout to the St. Louis BluesIt's not the first time...Did we mention, it's not the first time...???

Kevan Miller’s Debut Earns Praise From Claude Julien, Coach Says Defenseman Played ‘Extremely Well’

BOSTON — Kevan Miller made his NHL debut on Thursday night against one of the best, most explosive teams in the NHL. Not only did he handle himself well, he looked like a proven veteran. The California native was called up Wednesday night on an emergency basis, and with Dennis Seidenberg expected to miss a week or so, Miller was quickly inserted into the lineup. Already down a...

B's Recall Kevan Miller

Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, November 20, that the team has recalled defenseman Kevan Miller from the Providence Bruins on an emergency basis (American Hockey League). Miller will join the team Thursday and be eligible to play in Thursday night’s game against the St. Louis Blues (7:00 p.m. at TD Garden). Miller has skated in 12 games with the...

Tuukka Rask Has Lost His Edge

Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask just delivered a poor effort trying to break his stick after giving up the winning shoot-out goal to the Blues’ Derek Roy. Where’s the heart, kid. I prefer 2009 Tuukka who use to throw milk crates onto the ice AFTER breaking his stick. One thing that hasn’t changed, Rask has ****** balance when slamming his stick against something. The...

Boston Bruins Drop Exciting Tilt to St. Louis Blues in a Shootout

When two teams are as evenly matched as the Boston Bruins and the St. Louis Blues are, it's a shame a game has to end in a shootout. After 65 minutes of exciting hockey between two of the top teams in the NHL this season, the Blues were able to get the extra point over the Bruins by winning the shootout, 2-1, giving them a 3-2 victory in Boston on Thursday night.  The win moved...

Bruins Dennis Seidenberg suffers Injury

During the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers game, the Boston Bruins defenseman Dennis Seidenberg left the game with a lower body injury. According to Boston.com the injury occurred during the first period and Seidenberg’s first shift, after he got tangled up with Rangers Derek Dorsett. So far this season in the first twenty-one games, Seidenberg is the third defenseman to leave...

Carl Soderberg Displays His Impressive Wrist Shot in Bruins’ Second-Period Goal Against Blues (Video)

Carl Soderberg played one of his best games as member of the Boston Bruins on Thursday night against the St. Louis Blues. He scored his third goal of the season in the second period on an amazing wrist shot, which tied the score at 2-2. Boston would eventually lose to the Blues in a shootout, but the Swedish forward proved once again that he will be an important part of the team’s...

Rask, Bruins down Nash, Rangers

Tuukka Rask made 43 saves -- including a stop on a first-period penalty shot -- and the Boston Bruins spoiled the return of New York forward Rick Nash in a 2-1 victory over the Rangers on Tuesday night. Rask, playing on back-to-back days for the first time this season, denied Chris Kreider's penalty shot and turned away everything else except for Derick Brassard's power...

Ty Anderson: Youth without youth: Shorthanded B's ready for Blues

A win tonight for the Boston Bruins makes it three in a row and seven of their last eight overall, but there’s no doubt that sealing the deal on two points tonight will be harder than anything thrown at the Black-and-Gold through this little run of theirs. On top of injuries to the point (the B’s will be without both Dennis Seidenberg and Adam McQuaid for this one)...

Blue line shuffle: Seids and McQuaid out, Kevan Miller to make pro debut

With Dennis Seidenberg and Adam McQauid nursing injuries, the Bruins have dipped into their blue-line reserves in Providence for the first time this season.Kevan Miller (and not Kevin Millar the former Red Sox first baseman, who's name I want to say since I've seen Miller's) will get his first taste of NHL action tonight versus the St. Louis Blues.Miller played his college...

Shopping Or Bruins Hockey? It’s A Black & Gold Friday For The Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown!

Most people know the day after Thanksgiving as Black Friday. It involves getting up at 4 AM to save $200 for a HD TV, waiting in long lines and possibly getting in fisticuffs over the hottest toy of the holidays. However, according to a survey of over 800 hockey fans, 73% rather sleep in then and catch the Discover NHL Thanksgiving Showdown. For the 2013 game, it’s officially Black...

Bruins vs Canes': keys to tbe game

Its time for some matinee hockey at TD Garden as the Bruins get set for a 1 o'clock game against the Carolina Hurricanes. The last time the two teams faced off was this past Monday and the Bruins won 4-1 in what was considered a rebound game from the Ottawa Senators loss. The Canes' have only played one game since that Monday night game against the Bruins. They lost to the...

Tuukka Tantrams. BRUINS LOSE.

Well that was an awesome game ruined by a shootout. That was probably the best overall game the Bruins played all season. Great, great game to watch. Lots of action. Lots of back and forth play. Too bad these two teams don't play more. Pretty much what you'd expect in a game between two conference power houses. Lots of hits, lots of great defensive play. That was just...

22. St. Louis Blues at Boston Bruins. Something Something World Series Revenge Something

The Bruins have a big test tonight. Ottawa? Carolina? The Rangers? All child's play when compared to the St. Louis Blues. St. Louis is legit and I feel like they're a team not many fans of East Coast teams know about. Maybe it's because they reside in St. Louis where nothing really happens outside of gang wars and Cardinals fans scream on their soap boxes about how they...
