Over a week after a trade which would've shipped Boston Bruins forward Marco Sturm to the Los Angeles Kings fell through comes news the two sides are close to finalizing the deal.
A reliable source close to the Sturm camp informed me this morning the deal was nearly complete on the condition he passes a medical exam with the Kings' team doctors.
Sturm is returning from off-season knee surgery which has kept him on the sidelines so far this season though he's expecting to make a return by the end of December at the latest.
The original trade would've sent the Bruins a conditional draft pick in 2011 in return for Sturm.
