Jaromir Jagr has done everything except score for the Bruins this postseason, and that’s OK. While the 41-year-old forward is still searching for his first goal of the playoffs, the Bruins have kept on giving him chances — because they keep winning. Now, in the final round of the postseason, Jagr is still leading the way even without breaking through. In Game 3, he helped the B’s to victory not with a tally but with a picture-perfect assist to Patrice Bergeron to pad a lead. For that and for more, he’s our “Veteran Presents” player of the game. Jaromir Jagr Says Favorite Player Growing Up Was Jaromir Jagr (Video)

Jaromir Jagr has been around the NHL long enough to be the childhood hero of some of his current teammates on the Boston Bruins. One of those teammates is fellow Czech David Krejci, who said he grew up idolizing the now 41-year-old Jagr during the CBC’s pregame show before Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on Saturday night. Apparently he isn’t the only one, though. Even Jagr was...

Terribly Awesome Baseball Card of the Day: Jaromir Jagr

Jaromir Jagr, 1991 Stadium Club I don’t know what is more impressive about Jaromir Jagr, the fact that at 41 he is still playing terrific hockey or the hair that he is rocking in his 1991 Stadium Club rookie card. There has long been a rumor that in the early 70′s, Soviet Russia was experimenting with genetically engineered hair and this card no doubt proves it. No Russian before...

Jaromir Jagr’s Extra Work Paying Off, Says He Went ‘Top Shelf’ on Tuukka Rask in Czech Republic (Video)

The days of flashy goals and all the glory are behind 41-year-old Jaromir Jagr — and he knows it. The veteran player hasn’t scored once in the playoffs but has assisted on seven goals in 18 games. Despite not being the center of attention, Jagr has showcased his strong work ethic, putting in late-night skating sessions to work on his conditioning. Those extra hours seem to be...

Jaromir Jagr has Wolverine-esque intangibles and creative playmaking ability

Photo via Bruins.NHL.comScott LevesqueContent EditorWhen Boston traded for him on April 2nd the move was seen, by many, as an opportunity to help mentor the younger Bruins players - as the team made their playoff push.Who could blame the Bruins for that line of thought? With over 15 years of experience in the NHL, and a list of personal accolades as long as Interstate 95, the acquisition...

Cotsonika discusses saints, Bruins and goalposts

This playoff season's made me question my belief in the "hockey gods" as arbiters of truth, justice and the "right team won" way, but Yahoo Sports' Nicholas J. Cotsonika knows that at least one member of the Boston Bruins had a religious experience during the team's 2-1 overtime win over Chicago on Saturday night: The puck pinged off the crossbar...

Boston Finds Their Game Just In Time

On two overtime games to start the series, Jagr said, “Old people don...

Lord Stanley Game Two

Just a few things that caught my eye: How many Hawks can a Bruin hit if a Bruin could hit Hawks? Answer? 50. Wow. Hit the ice tubs, boys. Jaromir Jagr and his anti-beard -- so close, yet so far, far away. Maybe the posts have fattened up over the duration of his career. What's your over-under on overtimes this series? Geez. Enough already. ...

The real three stars of Game 2

Now we've got ourselves a Stanley Cup Final series. Three nights after a devastating triple-overtime loss in Game 1, the Boston Bruins grabbed a thrilling overtime win of their own, a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 2.
