The Boston Bruins' offseason of ho-hum continued with the club signing some extra pieces and apparently ready to hit the 2012-13 season with basically the same roster as the one that left the 2012 playoffs in the first round. Oh, and word got out that Boston made an offer to free agent Zach Parise before he signed his 13-year contract to leave the New Jersey Devils and join the Minnesota Wild. Now, there was a time, and not all that long ago, that news of the Bruins making such an offer would be treated with a rolling of the collective eyes of the Boston media. But this is not your old Bruins. This is a team that would have gone over the salary cap had Parise said yes, which the Bruins had to know wasn't going to happen but still reportedly threw their line in the water even as they were saying they weren't going to be players in the big-name game.
