Mark Recchi's goal for the Boston Bruins on Saturday night made him the oldest player to score in the history of the Stanley Cup Finals.
The 43-year-old Recchi scored on the power play at 11:35 of the second period, giving the Bruins a 2-1 lead in an eventual 3-2 overtime loss in Game 2 at Vancouver.
Recchi surpassed the mark held by Igor Larionov, who was 41 when he scored for the Detroit Red Wings in the 2002 Stanley Cup.
Recchi has been averaging nearly 17 minutes per game of ice time in the postseason, collecting two goals and five assists in 19 games.
